Earn enough gold to win the emperor's daughters hand in marriage.

Marcus saves the Beautiful daughter of the Emperor from a wolf attack and sets out to earn enough status to win her hand in marriage, or is that buy her hand in marriage? A noble heart or a quick mind is not enough for Roman's to take you seriously so you need to start earning heaps of gold rewards for finding objects. Travel from location to location in search for items which then exchanges for gold. The harder the item is to find the more gold you will get. After each chapter you can purchase nicer apparel and then eventually buying a lifestyle you can only dream of. There are loads of minigames which will help you get gold even faster.

The hidden object sequences in Romance of Rome is the most difficult I've seen in a HOG game. Items are very hard to spot because they could be half hidden or hid by other items of similar texture. Although some people could find this very frustrating I found it a challenge. Instead of having a list of items you need to find you are given images, but note that they are not to scale. I found that some items are impossible to find unless you have located key items in other areas. The game will let you know once you have found all the key items needed for a particular area so your not left out in the dark not knowing if you found all the key items or not.

Warning - certain achievements in the game will require that you find items or clear locations without you using the hint system.

Romance of Rome is simply the most challenging hidden object game you will ever play. Along with the challenging gameplay the graphics fit in well with the story and the audio is one not to miss.

The game has no timer so you can play at your own speed.
Unlike other HOG games there is no penalty for clicking randomly on the screen.

Items with a green background will go into your inventory when you have found it.
